“Is his dick as dark as his face?”
One of my best friends forwarded me an e-mail today, it was of her responding to a series of questions that a potential Tufts applicant was asking her. I had to cut and paste one paragraph because not only is it SO OBVIOUS that part of it is about me (duh!), but she was also able to pin-down…
3 MONTHS into the job… Tonight, for the first time I felt bored. Been pretty busy settling into the new apt, running errands etc. Wake up, eat, shop, eat, drink, drink, drink, sleep.
I feel like there’s never enough time to pursue hobbies anymore but I just need to schedule something in that I do weekly. Finally starting to realize this is a permanent thing, not some summer internship that I can wing and just go back to being a jumbo.
My two goals: Go to church every sunday & start boxing.
Updates on how that goes to come….
心靈相通
Yes, even oceans apart, we still manage to keep each other updated in every which way possible.
Nail color may seem like a menial thing to share, but do not underestimate the power of a fresh manicure. Neat nails can bring a woman confidence, smart colors can show a girl’s personality, and it never hurts to get some pampering if it means it will make you look more composed.
Photos taken and shared brilliantly with our respective smart phones.
—okay, maybe neon orange wasn’t the way to go, but you get the point.
“…there were about a million girls sitting and standing around waiting for their dates to show up. Girls with their legs crossed, girls with their legs not crossed, girls with terrific legs, girls with lousy legs, girls that looked like swell girls, girls that looked like they’d be bitches if you knew them. It was really nice sightseeing, if you know what I mean. In a way, it was sort of depressing, too, because you kept wondering what the hell would happen to all of them. When they got out of school and college, I mean. You figured most of them would probably marry dopey guys. Guys that always talk about how many miles they get to a gallon in their goddam cars. Guys that get sore and childish as hell if you beat them at golf, or even just some stupid game like ping-pong. Guys that are very mean. Guys that never read books. Guys that are very boring.”

Summer is almost coming to an end. As much as I can say that it was over too quickly, there comes a time when the fun and games must stop and real life must begin again. This will be the first fall for two of us where we won’t be returning to school. Even if one of us is, it’s just not the same as going back to undergraduate life. No longer will we have the week of orientation to wreak havoc on our bodies, or the quasi-freedom to do whatever we want with limited consequences.
We all grow up. It all happened too fast.
All I can say is that this summer was filled with a lot of friends, joy and happiness (hence the sunflower.) What started off as an unpromising three months turned out to be three amazing ones where new friendships were formed. However, admidst the crowds and across oceans, the three of us have still remained in constant contact, afraid to do otherwise. I want you both to know that no matter what life throws at us, how many jokes seem to be played on us, we still have each other and I could ask for nothing more. This summer was wonderful because of you guys and I can only wish to count on one hand the months till our next reunion.

…the most relieving day of the month.
